Please note:
The final list will not be done until Saturday
Night November 28th. Once I mark The Auction
List "FINAL" - NO CHANGES WILL BE MADE. The
reason is that items come in on a daily basis, a
few times a day, and I will have to have time
work on the description for the list.
Sometimes
the auction
helpers
bring
additional
items with
them. Those
items will
be described
that night.
When changes are made to the posted list, I will
put a notation near the top of the list so you
will know.
"Thank you to everyone that has contributed
and purchased from the YUSA Auctions!"

Auction Purpose:
"The purpose of The Yesterday USA
Red, White and
Blue Auction is to help guarantee that clean,
wholesome, family entertainment can be heard all
across America and all around the World during
2010!" The term "Red, White & Blue Auction" was
first used in November of 2000.
"Since the
Yesterday USA Radio Networks are supported
entirely by listener contributions, we hope that
folks will look upon the Auction as "An
Extended Warranty Protection Plan", says
Founder Bill Bragg. "Proceeds from the Auction
will be used during 2010 to replace or repair
the equipment that has been paid for via
contributions, and if the past is any indication
of the future, then we are going to need to have
plenty of reserve in our bank account", says
Bragg. "Since we had to cancel the 2008 Auction,
the bank account is running mighty low!"
Again this year Yesterday USA needs your help to
have a successful auction, and YUSA needs a
successful auction to stay on the air! To help,
you can donate items for inclusion in the
auction and then bid on items that other
listeners have donated when the auction rolls
around on Sunday Night November 29th, 2009.
WHAT KINDS OF MERCHANDISE SHOULD I DONATE?
Almost any item (that is in good
taste) is welcomed. "Just pick out
something that you might like to own
yourself; something that can easily be
sent through the mail ", suggest YUSA
Founder Bill Bragg. Pre-recorded radio
shows, movies, phonograph records, books,
radios, small TVs, computer equipment,
antiques or hand made items are always
popular with most bidders. "Many
stores will often times donate items or
offer you a discount; so don't be afraid to
ask", reminds Bragg! Mail order
catalogs are a great source of auction
merchandise; and they will even pack and
drop-ship the item directly to the YUSA
Studios! They also have toll free
phone numbers and they accept credit cards
too. "Don't forget our good friends at
Radio
Spirits; the folks who sell all the
great sets of old radio shows", reminds
Bill. The toll free number for
Radio Spirits is:
800/RADIO48. Also, our friends at
First
Generation
Radio
Archives, AVPRO have great buy's on many hard
to find old time radio shows and OTR Serials
too. The AVPRO toll free number is:
888/33AVPRO and
OTRCAT
has radio shows to sell. For great
Jazz music and hard to find recordings
contact
Jazzology.
Great books about the OTR stars are
available at
Bear Manor Media.
Make
sure to have the item(s) delivered to YUSA's
address.
WHEN AND WHERE TO SEND DONATED ITEMS:
Please send in your items as soon as
possible, so that they can be inspected,
announced on the air, listed below and
securely re-packed for shipment to the
winning bidder!
Please have your auction items arrive here
by Nov. 18th for the preview on Sunday Nov. 22th or Friday, Nov. 27th to get listed on the
final auction list!
We will make
every effort to list items received after
the final date. If they do not make it for this
auction, they will be used for next years
auction with credit mentioned to the donor.
If needed, please sign
the
signature release form for delivery in
case we are not here to receive your
donations.
Be sure to use Bill's excellent idea to make
submitting items for the auction as easy as
possible.
Just pick up one of the many catalogs that you
receive in the mail and choose something you
would like to have! Make sure the item will be
easy for YUSA to ship out (once it's sold), and
don't forget to stay within YOUR budget. Then
call the toll free number in the catalog and use
your favorite credit card, (perhaps the one that
gives you free Airline Miles) to pay for the
purchase! Next, have the catalog company ship
the item directly to YUSA instead of to your
personal address. The YUSA mailing address is:
Yesterday USA
Radio
*******
2001 Plymouth
Rock Drive
*******
Richardson, TX
75081-3946
That's all you have to do! No shopping, no
standing in lines and no packaging required on
your part. This idea really streamlines the
whole process of submitting items.
Don't
have time to shop? You don't know what to get?
How about a Gift Certificate to a national
store or a national restaurant! Just purchase a gift card
and/or a certificate
and mail it in to us in so we
can auction that off! That way, the winners
can pick out what they want OR
give it as a Gift!!
